coil pack upgrade ?'s

I am upgrading to the 87 style coil pack and was wondering, why wouldn't it be better to go with the triple coil style? Has anyone done this? What is necessary to make the change?

Type II coil conversion

Hi guys,

What do Type II coils look like? Are they individual coil units or three coils molded into one package like the originals?

I am working at converting my 85 GN to 86/87 module and ECM and just bought an Echlin coil and module.

Still need to do something about a chip though as the ECM I have is salvaged from a non turbo car.

THe type II is three sets of coils. I just acquired 5 sets with the baseplates and am willing to let them go for $25. I also got the connectors and about 15" of the wiring harness.
