The coilpack in my car seems to be the 86/87 type. (on it when I bought it). It doesn't have the flat top that says CCCI. This is probably a dumb question but how can I tell if the module has been switched as well or if it is still the 84/85 module?
thanks, Steve

Steve,
Three ways to tell;

If the car runs (I Assume it does :cool: ), and there the factory wring is connected without a “pigtail” to the module, than most likely it is an 84/85 module.

If the coil is an 84/85, and the same size as the module (Width and depth), it is an 84/84 module.
The IC’d cars coil and module are noticeably smaller in size.

If the module has 4 bolts at the bottom (to the sheet metal bracket), it is an 84/85 module.

The easiest way to tell if you have the 86-87 coil on your 84-85 module is to look for the 1/4" thick plastic adapter between the two parts. Here's a couple of pics of all of the coil and module combinations and a pic of the plastic adapter.
