I know most coilpacks will work off of the 3.8 FWDs, but do ANY of the ignition modules interchange with our cars? All of the ones i found are "keyed" diferently, but i have heard that some do have the same, anyone know which ones?

There is a list of vehicles with modules and coils that will interchange with ours on GNTTYPE.org....But, I can't find it. I've printed it and taken it to the junkyard for handy reference....I know its there. Maybe you can find it :)

anyone know where this is on gnttype.org? i cant seem to find it either........btw thanks for the info lburou

thanks fjm968, would you happen to know where to get he adapter plate? is it still avilable from gm?

yes it is i converted my 84 coil pac to the type 2 from a 2004 chevy monte carlo non super charged. for my 84 i had to get the caspers adapter. but for the intercooled cars it is plug and play.

great thanks a lot, ill swap the one from my 93 olds ciers and see if it makes a difference

1990 olds ciers has the braket, module&coils thay work great the coils should ohm out in the 4-5s I think I have this setup my car now its a little hoter spark than the stock setup.

thanks for the info. if i can only get the module and coilf rom another car, can i buy the bracket>?

wow, that's some cool stuff! Looking at the GNttype link, is that the total list? (could there be more donor cars that are not listed?)

that list was written in 98, so there are cars after 98 that can be used, but nothing before 98 that isnt on the list can be used i beleive
