Coilpacks?

Someone posted that they're misfiring intermittantly, and it sounds a lot like my problem, too. A lot of coilpack stuff was suggested. Anyone got a spare coilpack I could use for troubleshooting? (like... Derek? :smile: )

coil pack? meaning the one that mounts on the cap of the dizzy on an hei? if so i got like 5 of them lying around. but there all from oldsmobiles and regals

I wouldn't know if they're the same or not - my wife's '96 Grand Prix takes coils, but they look nothing like what I use.

The car is distributorless, so it has three packs, each pack fires two sparkplugs, and they get their firing voltage from the Ignition Control Module, part of the ECM. Just a new-fangled way of controlling spark advance and retard, and it means less moving parts to break.
