Cold engine hesitation upon acceleration

When i just start the engine in my 87GN it starts up flawlessly and it idles no problem, when i put it into drive the the car will roll in gear as it should however when i hit the accelerator the car will hesitate an almost stall then i let off and come back on the gas and it goes. also this only happened once but i put it into gear and it stalled. however once the vehicle has been run for maybe 10 minutes everything is good. I,m trying to figure out what the problem is, i have to scanner and i only have my 4 semesters of high school auto class to go on, so I'm looking for some help. Thanks guys.

Does the car have a scantool on it now, or you are going to take it to school and put a scantool on it? I would take out the IAC and clean it up along with spraying out the throttlebody and reset the IAC and TPS.

IAC? i really should know that but its not coming to me. ill probably take it to my school sometime this week and hook up the scanner.
