I posted this in the Hawaii Section because there are some quirks in the local insurance laws restricting policy underwriters that do not have an office in the state.

Who from Hawaii uses it?

Who do you use?

How much does it cost?

What is the agreed or appraised value?

What are the conditions of the policy?

If I remembered correctly my insurance company (state farm) offers a classic car coverage plan. So since our cars hit the 20 year mark it consider a classic.

It's like $60 fot 6 months for bacic no fault and like $100-120 for full coverage. But you have to have you other cars covered through state farm. The coverage is exactly the same as for your daily driven vehicles.

My agent told me that there is limit on the mileage you can drive your vehicles and this is not suppose to be usen as a daily driver. They said it is suppose to be used for car show, car events and cruises. But they did not specify what is the mileage per year it can be driven. They said 5k per year is fine.

They make you fill out papar work on what you did on your car in details down to the dollar amount you spent. They even ask you what condition your car is from fair/good/excellent on both exterior and interior so basically you are doing the appraisal yourself. They prefer the car to be kept stock as possible. You don't even need to pay for a car apprisal BUT if you want you can and possibilty you can get a higher amount of coverage on your vehicle. You will need to send a few detailed pictures.

I got almost $30k coverage on my car!

I'm pretty sure GEICO does not offer this type of coverage... time to look at state farm or allstate again...
