I've have a set of red spark plug wires and really like the look of them. Then when I replaced my intercooler hoses, I went with a set of Turbonetics red hoses; like the look of those too. Now I'm thinking of picking up some red wire loom (channels) to replace the black ones and also some red vacuum lines to replace all of the existing vacuum/pressure lines with red. Is this too much? Anybody have any pics of there car done up in red or another color? My car is a Silver T, if that makes any difference.

Wow. That really is ugly. [shudder] But it wouldn't be quite so ugly if it was red instead of blue. Then again, maybe it would be.

Art Freeman's link was down when I tried it. Too many hits, so geocities shut it down. Must be worth a look, so I'll try later.

Thanks for the links, and I'm still interested in seeing others.

Freeman's looks good - about the limit of red I think. The Ebay pic should tell you what NOT to do, *I* wouldn't do the loom and everything else.

I tried the loom and vacuum hoses on mine. The problem is that it ends up lookin like a big bowl of spaghetti. Think about it, it's better to have that stuff black because it ain't that pretty and you don't want it standing out. Unfortunately I didn't realize that until I screwed it all up. It's back to black. Now a few colored hoses and some chrome look really good!!

Took a look at Art's car and it looks OK. The red master cyl., overflow tank, and washer tank are more than I wanted to do. But his engine compartment is way different from mine. Mine looks almost stock still, so I think I'm going to stick with black after all. The red plug wires and turbo hoses are enough for the time being.

I'll make a run up to Road Race Engineering when I'm in LA next week. They have the black silicone hoses (more expensive in black than in red, blue, purple, or yellow!) They list sizes of 4, 6, 8, and 10 mm. This would be i.d. I take it? Anybody have any estimates of how much of what size I would need to redo my stock engine?

You want the color to ACCENT the compartment, not dominate. The most I would do would be to do the VCers and doghouse in almost chrome powder and do the grooves with red. Leave the hoses black...they won't show the dirt like the red does. NEVER do the loom, as loom looks cheesy, IMO. Clean looks better than color, IMO.
