comp 980 valvespring replacement

I replaced my valvesprings for the first time using a Comp Cams 980 replacement set. The stockers sit inside a cup. I installed the new set as is, out of the box and did not use those cups. I haven't reinstalled the engine yet. Does the replcements need to go back into the cups or not? This is my first GN engine, and I have no prior experience with one. Help a brother out guys.

Plenty of guys have installed the Comp 980's with no cups and no issues, you should be fine.

None for me - at least 60 1/4 mile passes and 10,000 miles.
