Comp cam cam button?

can anyone tell me about using them I have one and have checked the clearances and it seems I have to use all the spacers is that normal ,I had a new cover that was messed up and drill a hole were the button sets and put a gasket it on ot ,it was right there but you could still turn it not sure is this good? Anyone

Are you using the shim style button? I had to get thicker shims for mine because with all the shims that came with it it still had too much end play.
