Shi* i keep forgetting to post. I didn't dyno it but i got over 20 runs in the 1/4 with it. On 19 lbs and a 2.1 60' (street tires) it went 11.82 @119. Turning the boost up to 22-23 was getting me 11.20-11.30's . I then went to 28-29 lbs with 1.7 60' and got a best of 10.95 @ 124.

This was with 18* of timing wich is WAY off and a spark plug gap of .050" resulting in spark blow out for 1/4 of the track. I also didnt have the T-brake installed so i was leaving on 3 lbs on a 10.5 x 28" slick. More times to come after i tune some more and get my tranny and drive shaft in. Thanks for lookin.

This is a old post, but i need it to do my build. Nice work, is it still running?

Is it still running? Just wondering how long 4 bolts over each cylinder can hold 28 psi. Nice engine build.

Hey Tyler
Do you tune your own car?
Maybe I could stop by your place so you can help me get my car straightened out?

Check the Buick recommended bearing clearances. You are right--they call for much tighter clearances than most every one wants to run. It seems .001 scares most people. I shoot for .001 or as close to that as I can get using under size bearings or coating. Gotta love that good oil pressure. The stock V-6 oiling system has many 90 degree turns in it so radiusing oil passage turns and blueprinting the cover with smaller (.080 ) oil feed holes to the cam journals will go far. First eng. I had a local machine shop build the bottom end and I questioned his .003 main bearing clearance. "That is the way we build all our Chevy eng." Hot, cruising down the highway @ 60 MPH, I had 25 psi oil pressure. If built right, there is no need for HV oil pumps either. Best of luck.

i agree all tho i have never built a buick engine but ever one thinks a hv pump is always better but in realty more clearance and hv oil pump can lead to more winage loss but i guess if your not turning alot of rpm than then the winage losses dont really come in to play this is just my opinion but i also see the need for alot of oil press in boosted and nitrous applications i mean your not going to spary a 300 shot a 2000 rpms when you have no oil press
