My next mini project on my car is to replace all my vacuum lines. I bought my car a few months ago, and I know some of the vaccum lines are rotted nd cracked and I figure I might as well replace them all to start with a clean slate. I know from another post that i need some 1/4", 5/32" and 7/32" line. Are there any other sizes needed? Also, are there any alternatives besides regular rubber vaccum line? Like some fancy silicone hoses? I figure if I'm going through all the trouble of replacing all these, I'd like to use the best stuff out there, so if anyone has any ideas for lines that would be more durable and resistant to heat and such, please share. Also, what have you guys done as far as attaching them to the connectors? Do most of you just slip them over the little barbs and call it day? use hose clamps? Zip-ties? Lastly, I'm not sure all my lines are routed properly. I have seen various diagrams, including the oens in the sticky at the top of the forum here, but its kind of hard to decipher exactly what is going on in the area behind the throttlebody/compressor outlet area. Does anyone have any decent photos of this area on their car so I can make sure all my routing is done properly? I have the double line wastegate.
Oh yeah, one mroe thing. Where is a good source for the proper restrictor y connector for the wastegate? right now mine has just a generic "tee" fitting, with no restrictor. Anyone know where to get the proper fitting?
Thanks in advance for all the help. If it weren't for this board my car would still be a ****ty-running lump in my driveway. and would you believe I've learned so much from this site that now I'm not jsut asking questions here, I've actually answered a few from others? Feels nice to give back a little
