I drove my GN to BG on the BFG drag radials on stock rims. I guess I should have put them in the trunk, drove on the radials and switched them out...Anyway, the tread is about half gone with 3K miles on them. Do you all have a recommendation on a good tire that is a compromise between the drag radial and a regular tire like the regular radial T/A? I guess I am looking for a good launch on the street, but will also last longer than the drag radial.
My car should run about 12.50 with 49 turbo, alcohol and 22 PSI.

Nitto's are my DR of choice. Last longer than the BFG's and hook pretty well too. My driver runs high 11's and i've been 1.59 on 275/50's with that car...HTH Scott

I very rarely do a burnout on the street and only made maybe 50 passes on my first set of 275/50-15 nittos, and got 20,000 miles out of them. That's on a 7" t-type rim so the centers wore first. Had to go down to about 23-24 to get them to kind of wear flat, 22 psi hooked the best, and anything under about 26 let the back end sway when you caught a rut in the road. Got about 10,000 miles out of the second set, on 8" wide rims, but went to the track a lot and did huge burnouts :-).
