hello peoples; I have a lap top and it got infected or something but it does not work correctly. I have trend micro as a security form. I had my local computer place clean it up and I should of been set to go. I got it last thursday and it got infected again on fri. Brought it back fri. where they reloaded my stuff and now this weekend it's back.
WTF good is that security stuff if it doesn't work.

hello; Just to note I just called the computer store and he's suggesting to go to Mcafee and a security devise. The funny part is when I talk about Mcafee in most cases people tend to tell me to stay away.

Personally, I stopped using AV programs over a year ago. I have all my Win7 security stuff turned off and use only (the purchased version of) Malwarebytes and (free) ZoneAlarm firewall. It really helps to "get to know" what processes and services are (and should be) running, checking what programs "autostart" and regularly deleting files in your temp folders and internet cache. If I see something I don't recognize, I'll kill it first and then find out it's "story". Search and DL the "Sysinternals" suite, their "Process Explorer", TCPView", and "Autoruns" are great for snooping your own system.

Get Avast for anti virus, it's free and works well.
Make sure all your windows stuff is up to date.
I prefer Firefox over internet explorer and I have some blockers on that as well.

I think most virus infections I see come from people opening emails and clicking on links in the emails that they shouldn't be.

That's probably a good list to start with.

I agree, I haven't used AV in probably 2 years.
I use spybot to detect malware. Spybot is free.

I just stopped using a windows PC. My Macbook is super stable, not one issue in 5 years.
