Concert sound speakers question

you will need 5.25" speakers for the doors. and yes , you will need the black plastic cradles to mount the speakers behind the concert sound panels. pretty simple to mount, i put some jl audio c2 525 coaxials with a pretty large magnet and it cleared everything. sounds awesome too , then again, ive also got two amps , jl audio 3.5's, polk audio 6x9s, 12" sub, and it all looks stock, everything is hidden, except maybe the 3.5's, they rub the top of the dash since the upper portion is kinda tall.

i cant even hear my exhaust , 3 in downpipe , test pipe, and magnaflows on a slightly beefier 4.1 block.

Do you feel you even need the 3.5's in the dash for the front sound stage?? I finally decided to put a stereo in the Bufrod myself, besides I had alot of the stuff just sitting in the garage doing nothing anyways. I bought a new 12, and 5.25 components for up front, I had the amps and a set of polk 6x9's. In my mustang I had a set of 6.5 quart mobile components in the kick panels, single 12, and those 6x9's. ran the 6x9's off the head unit for rear fill, then amped everything else. I had some 3.5's in the dash of the mustang but they did nothing but distort the sound. Probably should have put a filter on them, I just unhooked them. Sounded great! So I was kinda mimicking that system you know simple but does everything you need, and look stock, minus the HU.

funny, i was mimicking my mustangs setup as well. i dont know how the 3.5's are distorting your sound, do you not have bass blockers on them? i had bass blockers on the mustang, but when i got my new 3.5's in the t-type , i used the amp to minimize most of the bass off the 3.5's and 5.25's. so that the bass on those speakers, does not distort the highs . and they scream with clarity now. i guess its one thing if you dont have a subwoofer to have a true bass, or an amp to control. in that case, i would just use bass blockers on the 3.5's if they are just distorting your sound.

by the way, on your components, where did you put the seperate speaker? i would have used components as well, but i didnt want to place a seperate speaker anywhere else. i wanted to keep the stock look. so i got these jl audio coaxials. i knew i had to use a quality coaxial if i wasnt going to use components.

but i can definitely see how your component 5.25s would make up for those dash 3.5s.

Well In the mustang I was running them and the 6x9s on the h/u then everything else was amped. When you where pounding on it you could hear the 3.5 distort so I unhooked them and hell you couldn't tell anyways other than everything cleared up nicely. That is why I was asking if you thought you really needed them. I am not even gonna worry about them. Simple and to the point 6x9s off the head unit, amp the components and the sub. On the components I havent gotten anything installed yet. I just purchased everything. I got components with a surface mount tweet, and I am playing with a locathing in the kick panel, and I think I am going to expierement with using 3m tape on the backsideso i dont have to ruin the kick panels for now. I have another set of kick panels that I am thinking of fiberglassing my own custom set and move both the woofer and tweet too...................Well see that is a whole other project.

I understand this is a bit of zombie thread, but I've been toying with this idea some. I have all the stuff to add concert sound to my car, pods, baskets and speakers, and panels.

Does anyone have any photos of where to cut, where the dimples to locate the screws are? I've looked at it and I just can't really picture it. I've seen varying not so good pictures, but does anyone have pictures that break it down like I'm a 5 year old?

I have a set of door panels that are concert sound. The covers and speakers are gone. I would sell them, but you don't
need them. You need to know were the hole should be.
If you don't get a better offer, I can get pics and measurements. PM ME

Here's a pic. of the $$$ JBL's that went in, make sure you have the factory paper with plastic cup behind the speaker, or just use a plastic bag behind it like I did.
Two sets of wires go to the crossover stuffed up near the armrest no pic. of that.
As long as the speaker and wires fit behind the concert sound panel without interference it doesn't matter much where you put the holes, if using the factory stuff you will need the plastic baskets on the back of the speaker.

Yep, fortunately, I have a really nice set of OEM speakers with oem baskets, with wiring included, plus some spare parts. Speakers look like someone pretty much pulled them probably to put something nicer in immediately. No dry rot, and I tested them with a spare radio I have sitting around and they were awesome. I'm impressed.

I was thinking about the plastic cup part, a bag or something plastic makes sense!
