Are you splicing into the stock wiring harness or using the harness extension that Casper's sell? If using Casper's, where do you stash all that wiring in order to get the ECM to mount in the stock location on the kick panel?

Are you referring to the Casper's jumper harness? If so, where did you stuff all the excess wire so you could get the ECM back into the kick panel?

The caspers harness is nice but you will have fun trying to stuff 10 pounds of chat in a 5 pound bag. Solder and shrink tape for me.

I connected my Gen II using the Casper harness and now I can't get the ECM back into the stock location. I really don't like it laying across the floor with all the wires. I think I may redo it and splice/solder into the original harness.

You will get mixed opinions on that but me personaly, I'm all soldered and everything fits pretty good. Its really not that bad of a job. If you can wire in a aftermarket stereo you can wire in the Gen II.

Even looking at the directions (for the PRO) it seems a little intimidating at first, but I think you only have to actually cut 2 wires?

Definatly worth it in my opinion.

I have done it both ways. If you remove the top peice from the kick panel box the wires fit easily. If you must have the top peice you will have to cut it to make fit & just keep the front peice that can be seen.

got any pix of how you managed that?? I have the plug-n-play harnes (for my translator pro), and absolutely cannot get that all placed in such a way to have the ecm back into it's plastic holder (don't care about the lid), and get it all back in place.

Just remove the 3 small screws under glovebox that hold the trim panel in. Dont know proper name?? Pull it down, tuck wires up & put trim panel & screws back in. Worked easily for me? The kick panel top plate on mine is still off as I dont really see a need for it but with some mods would work from what I can tell? Just dont really notice it anyways? I also found once you do it the first time, the wires sort of know where to go if you pull it out later on. They sort of bend into an upside down L shape when in place.
Make any sense??

What trim panel are you refering to?? Do you mean the hush panel (horizontal panel under the glove box)??

The one thats about a foot deep & about a few feet long. Sounds like a "hush panel"? cuz as I said I dont know the proper name? Has 3 small bolts/screws that hold it & it also holds the light by your feet. Guess I should have said that earlier!

Got it figured out, THANKS! I had to unplug the harness to visualize it, but basically ended plugging the harness back into the ECM, sliding ecm into holder, and then folding the wiring bundle over to the left (inboard) which didn't seem to stress it any, and all that bundle is kinda held up in place by the hush panel.
Now, I have to pull the ecm and holder back out so I can cut the required hole in the ecm holder to make room for the Power Logger that I need. That way it can all still be tucked into the stock location with nothing looking out of place.
