What is the male spade connector for on the side of my Turbo 400 tranny?? Any help is appreciated!!

Is that provided by the ECM? What do I need to do to get it hooked up on my GN??

Vehicles originally equipped with a TH-400 have a kickdown switch that is activated by the accelerator pedal. There were two types of switches: one located alongside the carburetor and one located just above the accelerator pedal.

You'll need to retrofit one of these in order to make the kickdown functional.

BTW, all this is assuming that you have a stock-style, automatic shifting TH-400 and not a full-manual/trans-brake.

That makes sense!! I forgot that most that use this tranny have the tranny brake and can't use it as an auto. I'll probably add the reverse valve body after I get everything together and working. Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!

Then, you can remove the connector

all together and install a 7/8" core plug in its place
