my car started feeling like the converter is locking and unlocking in 3rd and OD if i let off the gasd and do not apply the brake

i replaced the TCC solenoid no change anyone have any ideas what my problem might be?

Try locking manually. If it goes away, check your brake switch.

well it stops when i either apply throttle or break

so im thinking its not a break switch and my laptop is showing all the data for everythign it should be reading any other ideas?

well it never wants to show up on the lap top that i did but the switch lights up letting me know it is locked but if im in 3rd or OD it doesnt light up telling me that the car has already locked it up i assume

im not noticing any real change in driveablility with it manually locked just under a great load

When you manually lock the convertor, you WILL feel the difference.

Do you?...

Can you give more detail of the problem.

The converter should unlock when you release the throttle and the car is coasting. When you apply the throttle again, then it will lock again. I don't know the criteria details, but I notice it at moderate speeds like 45 mph. Maybe it does not do it at higher speeds.

i understand its supposed to lock and unlock but it feels like it is locking and unlocking repeatedly if there is no throttle or brake applied in either drive or overdrive

im not sure how else to explain it

Im guessing you mean kind of like a surging feeling. Ive got that probelm around 45+ in my car too now, just started. I dont know if its the torque converter tho, or a fueling problem.
