I took my dads car out last night and tried to lock up the converter from the switch in the ash tray and nothing? But the converter does lock from being controlled by the chip? And I thought it might have been a bad switch but I turned the key on and listened under the car when I hit the switch I could hear the solenoid clicking.
Thanks,
Jay McKinnon

Check the brake switch. It controls lock up. It's hard to see you got to get on your back and look up under your dash and look for something with a botton that pushes in after you let off the brake. It tells the computer to release the torque converter when braking. If it's out of adjustment you won't lock up push it back in if it won't stay find a nut that will fit around it on the back. That's what I had to do since it would not stay put.
