I just had my tranny rebuilt and a 2800 stall put in. Now my car won't go over 13 #'s of boost. I've got mostly stock everything with a few bolt ons. Exhaust, intake, injectors, chip etc... Could the new converter lower boost??? TIA

Possibly...

It could effect boost. As far as limit it, well there could be several factors involved. Please elaborate a little more on what is happening when you get the chance. This weekend will be slow (except for me I get to do nothing so I will be around , in fact we tiling the entry way today at work), so be patient for replies on this holiday weekend. Enjoy

Everything seems to be fine except, the boost jumps to 13#'s and stays there. I checked the wastegate hose and it appears fine. It is a stock wastegate. I'm gonna try and replace it this weekend with an adjustable one. But, like you, I have work to do this weekend:( I'm putting in a new yard. So I have nothing but time.
I should say that I had a code 42 a couple of weeks ago. I changed the chip, back to a Lubrant, and it went away. I changed plugs and wires also, and the problems gone away. I did try the old chip-not sure who's it was-and it coded again, so I assume the chip is fried. I drove the car to BG and back, 1000 miles and no problems, just no more than 13#'s of boost.
I was just wondering if theoretically, a higher stall converter could lower the stock boost setting??????? Have a nice weekend, and be safe.

Just TTT for ya because i'm interested in this post. I have a 2800 stall and debating whether to install it..
