I took the GN to Raceway Park for its first trip down the 1/4 ....The motor only has a few hundred miles on it...So I figured I wouldnt go crazy with the boost...My first 2 passes the car ran 106mph...19 psi On pump gas...

I figured the car should be running better.....So while in the pits before the 3rd run,I uncapped the exhaust(Single Shot)...I didnt lock the T/C on either of the first 2 passes...So I figured I would lock it off the line this time...

This pass the car jumped to 115 mph...nothing else changed...Just open the dump,Lock the T/C..Now...That seems like alot of mph to gain...My boost held steady @19lbs. So I wouldnt think the exhaust had much to do with it...The converter is pretty new though...with barely any use on it...Its a Pro-Torque 3200.

How much slippage should I expect from a non-Locked converter???I

Is there a horsepower level that you should start looking into a Multi-Disc T/C??

19lbs and no timing(Pump Gas) The car put 432 to the Rear wheels...

Guess I will have to send it out to be checked out...

Cool,

What were your 1/8 - 1/4 mile times and 60'?

Should be in the 10's with some tweeking :D

Most guys are happy with 9% slippage. T hat's about where I am at. You need to find out where you are RPM wise unlocked at the end of the 1/4 and figure your tire size/gear ratio vs. your trap speed RPM. Make sure you are not in OD. There is a lot of information you will probably not be able to get without datalogging your runs to really figure out what that convertor is doing for you.

I pick up 3 mph locking my Protorque 10" 3200 stall single disk.

I lock mine in 3rd gear around 80 mph.

Never tried locking it off the line since it's life would be greatly reduced over locking it in 3rd gear only in MHO.

I think with your power level a 5 disk would be the thing to use if you intend on racing it a lot and want a lockup.

I may be selling my Pro Yank Extreme 3400 never installed in my car if you are interested. This thing supposed to be bulletproof. Same converter they use in the Lingenfelter TT vettes. Just throwing this out there in case ;)

The 60ft was 1.68
1/8 mile 7.5@92.
1/4 mile 11.86@113...Shifted into OD(Duh!!)...Lost a few MPH..

Car went 12.0@115 on the pass before that on a 1.9 60ft..Staying in Drive...

Without the TC locked......
60ft 1.81
1/8 mile 7.86
1/4 mile 12.40@106

Hope to see a few 10 sec runs with this setup....(GN-1 heads-T&D Rollers--CPT-65-Champion Intake-Comp 212-212..(25 psi..race Chip and 116 In the near future...)

Ted...I do have 1 run on directscan..But It was with the converter locked..Will have to make a few passes with it unlocked
