I was driving home from the drags at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) last night with my younger brother and my wife in my Acura Integra. I was going faster than I should have been. I actually got up to about 90 at one point. I noticed a car coming up on me rather quickly so I automatically started slowing down to about 70 in a 65. He then turns on his lights and I immediately pull over. Well he asked for the usual reg., ins., and license. My tags were expired because I am still waiting for my new ones. Anyways, I am looking for my wallett and my wife tells me it is on the floor in the front passenger side. I am trying to get it, but it is stuck on the railing of the bottom of the seat. As I am doing this, he is making jokes about me and saying to my brother who is in the front seat " whoa, he's gettin' a little close" and "do you guys want me to leave you alone?" My wife is laughing at me.
Turns out he didn't give me a ticket even though he had clocked me at 80. As we were getting ready to leave he said " Now you wont be breaking any land speed records on your way home will you?" I said " No, I won't". He then said " you have already done your racing for the night, drive safe now", referring to the white shoe polish on my windows.
This guy was extremely nice and very merciful. I know I should have gotten a ticket, but he decided to let me slide. I was also surprised that he had a sense of humor. Usually I get pulled over by uptight jerks that just want to give me a ticket.
