I was driving home from the drags at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point) last night with my younger brother and my wife in my Acura Integra. I was going faster than I should have been. I actually got up to about 90 at one point. I noticed a car coming up on me rather quickly so I automatically started slowing down to about 70 in a 65. He then turns on his lights and I immediately pull over. Well he asked for the usual reg., ins., and license. My tags were expired because I am still waiting for my new ones. Anyways, I am looking for my wallett and my wife tells me it is on the floor in the front passenger side. I am trying to get it, but it is stuck on the railing of the bottom of the seat. As I am doing this, he is making jokes about me and saying to my brother who is in the front seat " whoa, he's gettin' a little close" and "do you guys want me to leave you alone?" My wife is laughing at me.

Turns out he didn't give me a ticket even though he had clocked me at 80. As we were getting ready to leave he said " Now you wont be breaking any land speed records on your way home will you?" I said " No, I won't". He then said " you have already done your racing for the night, drive safe now", referring to the white shoe polish on my windows.

This guy was extremely nice and very merciful. I know I should have gotten a ticket, but he decided to let me slide. I was also surprised that he had a sense of humor. Usually I get pulled over by uptight jerks that just want to give me a ticket.

See some of them are ok... I am surprised though it was in Cali...;)

Most cops I have encountered in Cali have been good people. Not that I haven't had a few nasty ones, but this guy is closer to the norm. You have to remember, most times if they stop you, you deserve it.

Sounds like he was enjoying your head down there:eek:  Did you say San Franciso.....:p :p

ur lucky you did not get shot , cause he could off easily thought you were going for a gun under the seat, i had a cop be nice to me too about my tires, he just gave a warning and said get a new set cause those bfg Dr's are pretty bawled and they are not safe to drive around in. good cop and a young kid too.

Now that's not right. And yes it is by SF. We were in a city called Benecia when I got pulled over. It is part of the East bay area.

Also, I forgot to mention that there were a couple Buicks there at the track. I know I was in an Acura, and I know it isn't fast, but it is still fun to go and run your car. I was talking to this older gentleman about his 2002 Regal. It had a smaller s/c pulley, intake and 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent exhaust. He ran a 14.2. There was also a 84 GN. I'm sorry but this thing was a piece if you know what I mean. He put an intercooler on it, and he had a few other things done to it. But he was running 15's. Which is still faster than my little 1.8 liter can do. I ran a best of 16.3 @ 85.

Wicked87GN,
I thought about that as I was trying to get my wallett unstuck. But he was just cracking jokes at me while I was "down there". It was a little embarassing I have to admit.
