So, I got one of these.. TRAXXAS E-Revo VXL (#7108) - Overview for my birthday last friday...

I have been doing RC for over 16 years, andi've NEVER seen anything like this!! This little sucker is barely over 10" long, and it's the fastest thing i've ever driven. period. I've had nitro 1/8 scale, electric 1/10th, lipo's, brushless, etc.. This little 1/16th scale truck beats them all. I can be rolling at good clip, punch it, and it'll just FLIP OVER backwards. it's insane. It came with a factory installed brushless motor/esc, and i installed the optional 2nd battery pack and series connector. Sick. Just sick. It's exactly like a full size e-revo, in every detail, including the speed! :D

I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to blow their mind with a little 1/16 scale speed demon. Most fun i've had with an rc car in a LONG time!!

I bought my little brother a Team Associated stadium truck a couple of years ago, that thing was pretty quick. Saddly I dont thinked he ever used it  (Maybe 5 minutes) so I told him he was never getting a present ever again (and he hasnt gooten one since). Have fun with it and dont crash it too hard.

Looks fun for my boys, gonna have to get em one:cool:

Looks awesome. I was into RC for a long time until the last few years. Think that little truck would make a fun winter toy. My RC10T is a highly modified pro racer truck and could probably kick the snot out of that thing, with the exception of it not being 4wd. I've had some other Traxxas stuff in the past, hope the quality of their stuff is better now.

I don't have any hobby shops near me either, but I get stuff from tower hobbies online, pretty much where I've bought everything since I started racing the Team Associated stuff released more than 20 years ago.

You must've been out of rc for more than a few years... the rc10t has been obsolete for well over a decade... lol as far as "kicking the snot out of" this thing, better think twice. My race truck is a losi xxxt cr, with a 5.5 brushless, and a 3s lipo pack. pretty much as good as an off road racer gets. we've put them head to head in straight line drags, and the little traxxas owns. It's just scary. Trust me, i'm no slouch, my hobby room is FULL of trophies from various off road races. I can't wait till racing season starts in the fall, this thing's gonna rip the mini class!

The 10T still has an aftermarket though. The only original parts on my truck are... hmm, the aluminum motor plate I think. The whole rest of the truck is aftermarket, down to the diff, the axles, whole chassis... everything.

Just like the RC10, which was a pretty good dirt oval setup. And the 10LSS, which was setup for indoor carpet oval/course tracks.

There just hasn't been a track or club around here for the last 4-5 years now, so I haven't had anywhere to go with them but my backyard. But, some shop owner about 8 miles from here opened up a "hobby" place, and ran dirt oval last season. This year, he is putting finishing touches on a full off road track. So, I may have to pull the 10T out of retirement and get some newer running gear. My friend has a Losi, newer truck, running gear, etc. But I could still out drive him.. even with my "obsolete" truck..lol.

Trust me, you're gonna wanna upgrade to AT LEAST a t3. better yet, just get a t4 rtr. If you're in a class with decent drivers and newer trucks, no way you'll be competitive with an rc10T. Ryan cavalleri couldn't win a modern race with that dinosaur. lol. no offense. All the mods in the world can't help outdated engineering. This hobby moves so fast, it's incredible. THere's new and better technology coming out several times a year. It's sad, but in order to be competitive, ya gotta keep up with the jonses. Trust me, i know! :frown: I was out of racing for a few years too, and when i came back, i was in for one heck of rude awakening. Before my hiatus, I was a regular top 3 finisher in the a-main for modified trucks. when i came back, my truck was only one design behind (xxxt-mf2), but my running gear was what really held me back. Best i could muster was mid b-main finishes. Everybody was running brushless motors and lipo batteries. I would keep pace in the technical parts of the track, but on the straightaways, they were just blowing by me! I updated everything now, we'll see how it goes this winter..

I had a Jeep TJ that was really built up and I sold it when I started looking at Buicks. Have always had the wheeling bug though, so I bought an Axial AX10 last year to hold me over. It's a lot of fun. Not built for speed, it's built to crawl :D

Only pic I have is when I just finished building it.

Buddy of mine used to race for Team Associated, then Losi. Met Gil Losi a hand full of times.

The RC10 ruled for a while until Losi started making chassis. Losi would one up TA in every revision.

Those were the days.

Nice ride welby! Crawling is blowing up! I can't seem to get into it tho..
notacarlo, that's cool! I'm a loyal losi driver, but it seems that i may have to jump ship to team ASSociated, since losi isn't making any new competitive trucks or buggies any more..

I use to have a nitro rustler with the 2.5r nitro motor or whatever it was. It was a pretty fun little truck. That thing pissed my neighbors off so much lol

That's next on my list. I had a chance to drive a few at the Hobby expo a few months ago at the convention center. Wicked fun, it will be my winter project, building one of those and a rock collection;) .
My favorite car of all time bar none is the classic RC10 (with the gold pan and bolt together wheels.:D ) Still by far my favorite.

I like the crawler. looks sweet. My neighbor has a 3.5 revo modded pretty good. I have an Ofna hyper 7 done up pretty good.I got mine from a guy at work that races these things. It will hit about 70mph in a real short distance I have to ask him the size of the engine. The hobby store I go to said that the engine is not legal for racing but it is fun to play with until I crashed it into my fence:eek: The parts are cheap for the most part
