Living in Hawaii....don't have to worry about freezing. Gonna flush the cooling system. Should I decrease the coolant amount? I have been told that straight water is the best but no rust protection. Is Purple Ice any good? Have used water wetter in the past with no problems but maybe it just gave me peace of mind.

I always use a 50/50 mix. Remember to use distilled water, not normal drinking water. Antifreeze also has anti-boil properties. It is both the antifreeze and the pressure that raises the boiling point far above 212F.

Distilled water is fine and your friends at the track will thank you if a rad hose let's loose and your not using antifreeze.

If you're going to be at the track then just distilled water as mentioned. For regular street use I always just run the 50/50 mix.

Water will cool MUCH better than a 50/50, or any mix, with antifreeze.

Using a 15psi pressure cap, water will boil at 250 deg, the 50/50 mix will boil at 256 deg.

To prevent corrosion and other harmful conditions, it is necessary to use a radiator additive such as RMI-25, not just water.

Waterwetter does NOT have all the necessary to completely protect the cooling system, it will go to a corrosive state quickly.

Been dealing with desert heat in cooling systems for over 30 years, and have found no other product as good as RMI-25.

And you can take Nicks statment above to the BANK !!

RMI-25 and distilled water like stated above. In Hawaii a no brainer. Your bearings will thank you if you blow a head gasket too!

I run it year round even in cold CT winters without anti-freeze. Of course my GN stays in a heated garage all winter though! I only sweat it out if we have a power failure in the middle of winter and knock on wood that has never happened.

We carry it if you can't find it locally.
