Ok so I was thinking about doing a dual fan set up but some people on here have said in other posts to seal the facorty fan with weatherstripping but I have a couple thoughts on that before I try it 1 would be if I seal the fan to the rad won't it cause my aftermarket trans and engine oil cooler to run hotter becuase there not in front of where the fan would be and 2 wouldn't the weather strip wear through the aluminum rad over time from vibration ?

Weather stripping shouldn't wear through the radiator. I don't think your external coolers will be affected much since they're up front and get good airflow.. You kind of hit the nail on the head, the factory fan does not cover the entire radiator. Are you running hot? Have a fmic? What radiator?

Running a little hotter then I'd like about 190 on a hot day 200 as soon as I stop I do have a fmic and f body rad with a trans and engine oil cooler up front behind the fmic

Going through the same issue myself. Except I have already sealed the fan shroud up and don't see much difference. I am going to be putting in dual fans and a new box in kit.

Dose everyone run dual fan with a front mount? Or are some people still using the stock fan with a front mount?

Stock fan with a front mount here. Although both low & high speed of the fan is under ECM control (EBL SFI-6 Flash ECM). No A/C so even on hot days the coolant temperature is OK. Have a large aluminum radiator which has to be helpful.

I had an f body and dual fans which worked ok until i got a front mount. A resrictive front mount really taxes the cooling system. I got the alradco radiator and it solved the problem. Temps stay very cool now. The intrepid fans work well, but they do fail. My new car has the alradco rad and i am going to get alradco dual fan setup soon. Alum shroud, spal fans (very well known, high quality fans) drop in/plug in, and not china crap. Last rad/fan combo you will ever have to buy. Even if it costs a little more sometimes, i am learning not to cheap out or settle for less than ideal circumstances. I would never be happy if my car went above 180. I know lots who do, and that is fine, but i would rather not. I am kinda OCD like that, especially with coolant temps and oil pressure.

If there's enough interest we can put together a group buy since we're approaching spring. Save everyone some money.

Smart move, before all the "my car is running hot" posts start flying. :)
