I was looking for some info on radiators. I have been looking to upgrade my radiator to either a higher efficiency stock style or aluminum one, because I had recently installed a front mount intercooler. Wouldn’t you know, when putting in the intercooler I see a leak from the radiator, so I need one somewhat fast :(. I have a trans cooler and therefore, do not need one in the radiator. Can anyone please help me out with some of my options? I also would like to know the difference between the Be Cool #60018 (G-Body, $495.99) and #66062 (Grand National, $676.99)? Thanks for any help?

I'd go to NAPA and get a Modine replacement 3 row copper i think they are about 160 bucks. the 3.8 shouldn't need a 700 dollar radiator.

Brian, is the radiator an exact stock replacment? Fittings for oil and trans?

I do not think the NAPA or any general aftermarket radiators have the oil and tranny cooler like stock? The Delco/GM replacement does but it is not high effiency.

In my experience there is not a lot of difference in cooling using an alum radiator in a GN as compared to a 3-row, high effiency.

In your area this should work ok. A fan upgrade, like the Ramcharger's dual which can be mounted directly to the core could be added if the temps are too high.

If in the springtime, you flush your cooling system and use RMI-25 with just filtered water for the hot months, should run cool enough.

my car appears to have a modine replacement radiator, It has both coolers in it. i'd just have napa order one for an engine code 7 and check it when it comes in. if it's not right don't buy it, have them send it back. these radiators are good if you have a domestic car but the ones for hondas and stuff don't look or fit right.

If you are going with a front mount, would suggest something better than a stock replacement. Cooling to protect your engine and trans is NOT an area to cut corners

summit-199.99 howe aluminum rad. the 19x31 fit perfect you have to push the top plate down about half an inch or you can cut it if you have a cut off wheel -my car never gets over 180
