I'm still running my stock shortblock at 500+ rwhp. I'm thinking of increasing the boost and am considering buying a forged shortblock and transferring all my parts over before I blow up my stock motor.

What is the approx cost of a forged short block that can handle 700HP?

And then it's typically 2-2500if you 2 any them to bolt up heads etc...

You're talking a forged rotating assembly for around $1700 plus balancing, a neutral balanced balancer and a flex plate.

Yes, dont forget to add the balancer, flexplate, roller cam, lifters, and timing set .... $$$

And possibly a new front cover and pump! I belive I have 7k in my new short block...... I quit counting $ after I realized I did not want to tear it apart for something I did not replace to save a few bucks!!!

If anyone is worried about the cost then they are probably in the wrong hobby. I've seen people spend $15-20k on an engine for a street and the engine still a stock block!
