Hello everyone. Recently I did a lot to the upper half of my engine. I powder-coated the valve covers, turbo shield, plenum, and the up-pipe. I put new valve springs, new 42.5lb injectors, new gaskets throughout (except intake and heads) and a TT chip. The car runs and drives a lot better. But now here is my dilemma. According to my boost gauge, the boost is bouncing back and forth between 10-13lbs. I was told that it is most likely a vacuum leak. So maybe my car is not running as well as it should be? A year prior, I won a Cotton's billet aluminum vacuum block with the push-lock connectors and plastic line. I want to install this, but it seems I need to buy some fittings so that I can adapt my mane items (PCV, MAP Sensor, Boost gauge, AFPR, and the EGR and Charcoal canister lines). I want to use barb fittings for the charcoal, egr, and PCV. I also want to adapt my MAP Sensor, and AFPR to the push lock fittings. I just have a couple questions so that I can order everything right the first time. I want to get this squared away so I can put on my Razor Kit :D.

-What is the size of the fitting on the MAP sensor?
-Can I drill the AFPR and tap it for the push-lock fitting? The AFPR I have has an integral fitting on the top half (meaning it is part of the actual top part). Can I cut that off and drill it out?
-The PCV will be a 3/8 90* barb, but what about the EGR and Charcoal? What size barb should I use for these?
-The big question... Do any of you fellow members know where I can order these fittings or where I can buy them? Local Autozone, and Advanced do not have what I am looking for.

Here is some before and after:

Thank you,

I just did this recently so it's still fresh in my head. Most of the fitting you'll need can be found at your local Parker store, crappy for me cause there are no Parker stores in Hawaii. But anyway what I did with the stuff that had barbs(map sensor, hvac) on them I went with 1/4" compression unions or Ptc unions cause some of them fit well on the hard plastic after filing off the barbs on the sensor/valve side and a Ptc fitting on the vac block. And of course a barbed setup for the pcv like your planning. I'll post up some pics later tonight, I'm at work right now

That would be great if you could. Thank you very much.

Thanks

My hard drive crashed so I lost all my pictures. I'm redoing my vacuum lines just to make the Bowling Green trip. I should also have some pictures soon. I got most of my fittings at Orielly's.

There are no OReilly's around as far as I know. I found a Parker place close to me, so I will stop by there tomorrow. Thanks guys for all the help. Maybe I will do a How-To or something to help out the community.

No. That fitting is not part of the billet top piece. It actually just screws in there.

you can also try east coast truck n trailer....they have a butt load of different air brake air line fittings(thats what they are)....thats where i got all mine..plus they have the air line too if u need it....they are in brockton ......joel

ok heres the pics of my setup... for the fp reg i just put the compression nut/ferrule under the barb of the fitting and compressed the ferrule so theres no way for it to back out. the map sensor side i was planning to do the same but when i pushed the ptc union on the sensor after the barb was filed down it wouldnt come off with hand pressure so i figure that is all good(probably woudl be a little safer with a compression there). everything with a barb got filed down and a compression union on them with the exception of the map. everything i used was 1/4" or 3/8" on the compressions and 1/8 npt to 1/4" ptc on the vac block side. im not sure what size lines the cottons kit uses(i think its 5/16") but you would have to get fittings accordingly as i used 1/4" airbrake line. all connections pass the carb cleaner test and i have 20 in/hg of vacuum at idle so i dont think i have any vac leaks but would have to do a smoke test to be sure. i used blackgn1's earlier post as a guide to what i was doing so big thanks to him
