First will a bad EGR Valve cause a rich condition? Is there any advantage to haveing a GM EGR instead of an aftermarket?

Also when racing my TR will my convertor still lock if I leave the car in D or does it need to be in OD.

(I just switched to a lock up convertor)

When racing your car, leave it in D unless you are running faster than 130ish, depending on tire height and gears...
At the end of the 1/4 mile when lifting off the gas pedal,I always upshift to OD right after the traps not under WOT to get the revvvvs back down.
Erics chip might lock the convertor at WOT in third gear around 80 giving you some more ooomph on the top.
