I was wondering which housing would be best for this turbo.

The ones that I have are the one that came with the turbo, a PTE or a garrettt.

All of them are .63 A/R.

I know the garrett is a true .63 and the PTE is in the low .70s but I don't know what the T-netics housing is versus it's rating. Is it bigger, smaller or a true.63??

If anyone has experience running this turbo and has tried different housings that will help me from having to swap them around to find out it would be great if you could share that info.

It would depend what turbines in there. The 68mm turbine needs the most it can get.

It has the 65ptrim wheel, and if you happen to know what the T-netic housings true A/R is that would also help.

I believe the 68 wheel comes with the.82 housing if I'm not mistaken.

Here are pics of the turbo Nice !! Turbonetics CPT BB 66 Turbo

I should have it tomorrow and want to install it this weekend, so any help in which housing is the better of the three would eliminate all the trial and error.

One other question, does this turbo need an oil feed restriction fitting to prevent over oiling and if so what size should I use???

Brian thanks for the help.

that's good advise, the car should be a handful, concentrate on the tune and hook.

Doesn't turbonetics use garrett turbine housings? Can you check volume of the 3 turbines you have? I'd like to see if your claim holds water...

Give Jack Cotton a call.

I just installed yesterday, and yes Mike I left it alone. After visually looking at all three housing it does look like the T-netics closely resembles the garrett except for the wastegate block off plate.

I would like to try the garrett housing if for no other reason that it looks like it would be more efficient with out the block off plate in the housing.

Without any way for me to measure it they sure look close. The precision is bigger hands down no doubt about it.

I guess I'll go play and see what it's like.

Easy 10 second turbo there.

It won't matter which ex housing you use. The compressor cover will choke flow the compressor. The most I've seen with the small compressor cover and that compressor is about 67lbs/min. With the wastegate bypass blocked off the turbo couldn't keep up with the engine over 5300rpm.

At what boost level did that occur??

It would flash to 29 then drop off to 24 by 5800rpm. The car went 10.50 off the foot brake. It probably could have went 10.3x with good air and 1.40 sixty foot. Was definitely out of turbo. The most I got out of it on the dyno was 600whp and was with 116 octane

With more turbo the same heads, cam, intercooler went 9's

That's cool by be, I'm only looking to run mid tens for now.

I haven't turned it up yet, [20lbs.] first trip down the road today and it felt good.

I'm hoping to turn it up to 25/26 this week and see what it feels like.

I will keep an eye on the boost and look for any drop off at higher rpms.

At 26# and with a $300 12" 2800 stall I've gone 11.14 at 124.x with that turbo...it's a pig below 25#. Personally I miss my TE60.

Haven't taken my new combo to the track yet, but at 18# on the street, the 66 spools instantly, hits hard, and runs like a beast. Runs circles around my old te44 combo that went 11.70's at 25#.

You're converter was killing you. The time you posted is great for such a shitty converter.

If you had a 32/3500 you would have liked it much more than your TE60.

I've run a TE62 and a 63 with a 2800 as well as a 3200 and the 3200 wins hands down.
