has anyone used a good n/a crank in place of a turbo crank up to say 450hp?

i assume it is the same other than the rolled journals.

i have a good used one and the motor i have has major bottom end noise.

crankshaft

i bought a new gm Na crank and stuck in my motor run 25 lbs. boost with a Te 44 ported heads etc so I'd say I'm close to the 450 mark 2500 miles so far have not taken car to strip yet but it see 25 lbs boost daily no problems yet.

The rolled fillets don't make the crank stronger, they make it last longer (increase the fatigue life). Some guys have run the n/a cranks into at least the 10's and been ok. Turbo cranks that will clean up at 0.010/0.010 or maybe 0.020/0.020 aren't that hard to find and seem to be worth $150-300ish based on for sale ads I've read. I'd try to find one of them but if you are on a real shoestring budget and not making killer hp all the time do what you can afford to do.

I too have also used one with good luck. Not sure what the horsepower level was but motor was strong.

NA crank in my car. The last dyno I was on said 570 to the wheels.
