I've got some space for a small webpage courtesy of my internet provider. The other day I was thinking of a function it could be used for to help the TR community. For those traveling in their TR or whatever, car trouble may occur at any given moment. It's stressful to be somewhere you know no one and be in a bind. My thought was to create a registry of folks willing to allow a fellow enthusiast to park their vehicle at their home when this happens until the repair can be done or proper arrangements made or just be friendly and visit. There are pros and cons:
Pro: Nice to know who you can call when in need. Print out the info and keep it in your car/wallet when travelling.
Con: Listing your phone number which could possibly be looked up in a reverse phone directory and give potential thieves a map to your house. Thief or, worst case, someone who doesn't like you posing as a member with car trouble to call you and get your address.
Is there any way to protect against the con? Can cellular phone numbers be looked up in such a way (say the billing address which for me is my home)?
