Anyone here on it or take it before?
Just curious as to the results.
Also of interest is Glutamine (Glutapure), Protein powder (Iso-Pro,ultra low carb).

TIA.

Do a search on the Internet. I've read that it can speed up male pattern baldness.

Natural protein is best...chicken, steak, beans etc.

Whey protein drinks/smoothies with spirulina is good. A little Soy doesn't hurt either. The spirulina has a lot of Amino acids which muscles need to absorb the protein.

More Whey for men...More Soy for women.

I used creatine for a little while a couple of years ago. Then I found out it can cause kidney problems so I stopped using it.

Well I have tried a lot of different things and nothing has really worked, I am yet to try whey protein though. cell tech has a lot of acid in it which is really bad, caused me to have a blockage in my esophagus caused by the acid. creatine is bad for your kidneys if you dont drink tons and tons of water while on it because it supposevely crystallizes which is no good. anybody have any ideas on what else is good and not really bad for you? anything i dont have to mix cause i hate doing it myself always feels like I am doing it wrong i want already made for me.

i use glutamine, its actually a creatine glutamine complex (that i take) and its good stuff. One of the only things that i have been able to take that has helped me gain weight and i have taken alot of stuff.

Joshua

24 hr fitness sells the stuff i take, its called Apex Volumizer Max

N02 is some good stuff to, i also take a protein supplement with the volumizer

A couple of years ago, I spent a summer on creatine. As far as gains go, there were many, quickly.......but, as noted above, you have to stay totally hydrated. I had a bunch of beers while on creatine once and couldn't even lift my head the next day. Over all.....better to go the natural route (although creatine IS very effective).

Before I got married and had a child... I was working out in the gym 4-5 days a week. At one point I had plateaued on my flat benching around 275lbs. After approx. 2 weeks on creatine I was incorporating 315lbs. into my normal work-out routine.

But... you must stay very hydrated!!

This is just one example.

hydration is very important as most of the weight you would gain would be water weight, and once you stop taking it (creatine) you will lose mostly everything you gain, that is were protein is different.

i am in no way an expert on nutrition but i have a freind that is a body builder and trains with Ronnie Coleman (6 time MR.O) who lives in my area.

my buddy took it for a while and ended up passing a kidney stone. He was only 17.

Too much mis-information in here!

Creatine is not a hormone, nor does it alter hormone levels in any way. Creatine is naturally found in meat, red meat mainly.

Creatine works with simple carbs by forcing nutrients into muscle cells where they are stored as fuel for your next workout. Creatine CAN cause a bit of water weight gain but it mainly works by making you stronger and you recover faster which leads to an increase of muscle mass. I tried to explain that as plain as I could.

Once you stop Creatine you may notice a bit of weight loss but nothing drastic. If you continue to eat, rest and train the same after you come off Creatine you will see no difference except a less of a pump when you lift.

I've noticed my best results came from taking creatine for over 3 months straight. You could take it every day if you wished and there would be no harm.

You need to focus on hydration no matter what you do. Creatine uses water as a tool and/ or pathway, but most people don't drink enough water as it is.

My recommendation is: Buy the cheapest powdered Creatine you can find. Buy powdered Gatorade at Costco/ Sams Club/ Super Walmart. Immediately after lifting drink 5g of Creatine mixed with 1-2 scoops of the Gatorade. The powdered version of Gatorade had Dextrose and Maltodextrin instead of liquid Gatorade and juices that contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. Human bodies can't figure out what to do with High Fructose Corn Syrup and it mainly gets sent to fat stores right away.

I guarantee he'd still have had a Kidney stone without the Creatine. I've taken Creatine for a long time (8+ years) and never had 1 bad side effect from it.

have to disagree with you saying that minimal loss will be found when stop being taken, i have seen many people, including myself and been told through other personal trainers that creatine is dominatley water weight and when stopped being taken, will be slowly lost. I gained about 20lbs when i first stared to take a type of creatine (cell tech to be exact) when i stopped, i continued to work out but slowly pissed out about all of that 20 lbs, i think it was like 16lbs total.

Joshua

When I was taking creatine I had more energy and endurance during my workouts. I felt my recovery period was shorter.
I feel you shouldn't take it more than 2 months daily. Take a week or two off to give your body a break from it.

Anything in huge doses is bad for you. Use creatine accordingly and drink lots of water.

It too helped me put on weight and I was 145lbs @ 4% body fat back in college my end of sophomore year. Beginning of freshman year I was 115lbs! Wish I was in as good of shape now.

I've never taken any steroids ever and IMO they are not worth the long term effects.

A good diet is essential and I was trying to always eat like a horse back then.

I've never lost any of the weight when I came off, unless I started eating poorly or trained less instense. All of the people I train keep their gains too. Not sure why everyone loses weight when they come off. They obviously didn't gain any muscle from it. If you can "piss out" the 20 pounds you gained then it was all water weight. If all you gain is water weight then why take it? You can get the same effect if you increase carb intake, which will cause you to hold more water. I think too many people take creatine wrong and not for long enough. I would feel the bare minimum length it should be taken, at least once a day, for 1 month straight. If you skip 1-2 days then you've counter acted its effect somewhat and pretty much start from square one.

I see dumb kids in my gym that start taking it, lift hardcore for 2-3 weeks and gain a tiny bit off it and once they're done they lose a lot of what they gained and start training poorly again.

The same could be said of a lot of guys in my gym that juice. When they're on a cycle they're in the gym everyday, working hard. I can always see when they come off cause they start lifting lighter weight, skip days in the gym and end up looking worse than they did before.

Too many people are dependent on supplements and steroids to do their work. If you can't gain weight by lifting naturally and eating correctly then Creatine and anything else is a waste. Protein powder is excellent and I consider it more food than supplement. I eat so much solid food everyday that it comes in handy when I'm stuffed and need to eat.

What's your friend's name? I presume you live in Arlington TX, or near the area, since that is where Ronnie trains @.

I'm a bodybuilding judge in CO and will be seeing and meeting Ronnie in December for the Rocky Mountain. He should be HUGE since he just came off his 7th Mr. Olympia title, eclipsing Arnolds 6 titles.

Ok so whats the best thing to take while weight traning , how often a week? if being 150lbs like myself and wanting to be roughly 185 what would work best? i know I am not alone when i say that i am so damn confused about all of these supplements i tried creatine but i didn't know how to take i was only putting a drop of water in it and drinking it and not hydrating myself properly throughout the day. luckily i only took for a very short period of time.

my friends name is David Davis
i have meet and spoken with Ronnie one many occasions as he made MetroFlex, i also know the owner of MetroFlex and he has competed in more than 100 shows, i get other info from a couple of friends that are personal trainers that work at 24 hr fitness one was a former NFL player.

I also helped train Mark Clayton who will be going to the NFL next year he is number 9 for OU

i do my training at Sam Houston High and 24 hr fitness as Metroflex isnt really my style or open with my schedule

You're a lucky guy...MetroFlex is my style as I hate "health clubs".

I've only met Ronnie once but he's a great guy. I like the way he talks. :)

Does Brian Dobson always wear those cammo cut off shorts that he's wearing in all of Ronnie's vids? :)

Anyway, good luck with your training!

to the question above it is best to cycle on creatine it will differ from person to person, but you can take it every day will training for a x amount of time but then it is good to take a break from the creatine and let your body know what its like to not have creatine, this will increase your overall gains i have heard things like 3 weeks on 1 off but i really think it would differ from person to person, as everyones metabolizism is different. For instance i have to eat like a horse to stay were im at, and will not gain weight without the help of supplements.

Joshua

hahaha yes Brian is always wearing those shorts atleast he is everytime i see him.

I have meet the guy that won the Colman Classic and has only on more event to win and he will turn pro as well. He shops were i work (Wal-Mart) and he is freaking huge especially to be around my age which is 23.

i was unaware that Ronnie won his seventh (havent talked to my friend in the past couple of days) it ended on Saturday right? even though Ronnie is in the my neighborhood and is a great guy, i was voting for Cutler, i think hes pretty cool

Metroflex is pretty awsome, as its very inspiring, just being inside makes you wanna lift and lift hard you can workout with your shirt off, they got insparational messages all over the wall, kisk ass pics off Ronnie, throw the weights around, jam to Metallica and other kick ass workout music, but there is no swimming pool, hot tub, shower, locker room, AC(big one), and alot of other things, plus i pay less at 24hr fitness super sport than i would there.

the crappiest thing about 24hr is its hard to work out to Cher and Brittney Spears, so i just bring my Discman with me (problem solved)
