credit check for turbo??

Hi

So I ordered a stock turbo for my 86 GN. I got it from precision turbo and engineering.

They needed my SS number and drivers license number

what's the dilly? Is this a for a credit check or something?

Not only that, but they said I would have it by new years, not here yet.

Did anyone else have this kind of trouble? Or am I being childish?

Uh, what phone # did you call? I've bought a lot of stuff from them and never had to give them that kind of info. Theres no reason for that. PTE is a reputable company, are you sure you called PTE, and not some other "Precision" turbo place? Weird.

Dude.. Verify the number you called.. That does not sound right unless you were setting up some credit account and I beleive they work on COD only...or Prepay..

That sounds very weird man. I would verify who you called and why they are asking for that information, before ever giving that out. You may have set yourself up for identity fraud.

Thats the right number, who did you speak to? That seems weird to me. I see no reason anyone would need that information.

The only ones that can answer your question is PTE. Call them on Monday, find out who it was you talked with and get the exact status of your order.
