CRF Core value and Performance

I found a CRF core in the salvage yard. They want $275 for it. Is this a good price ? What can be done to make this tranny perform ? I know it is not a BRF, but could use a good spare if this one is any good....thanks....

itll work great.just get a bigger servo shift kit and boost valves (all available in a kit)and your on your way.it is from a non ho ss monte w/3.08 final drive.minor mods and itll be close to a brf.has very good shift timing and spacing.
