Hey guys, I've been tracking down a ticking/rattling noise for a while on my car and think I may have found it. I was using an automotive stethoscope and could hear the noise in the downpipe and front part of the exhaust but it was faint. I checked the inspection cover and it was quiet and smooth, so I went to the cross over and it was noisy as heck. It was the worst right in the center if the pipe under the car where it goes behind the oil pan. I'm guessing this indicates I've got a leak on the pipe somewhere? The flanges both sound quiet, it's only loud in the center part under the car. What do you guys think?
Should I pull the cross over off and look for holes/splits or just replace it? Or could it still be something else?
Any ideas are appreciated! I just don't want to pull the cross over off if I don't have to, and am thinking I will just replace it with a new one if I have to take it off.
Thanks in advance!
