Have a new 1 piece stainless pipe, and have spent the better part of a week trying to get this thing lined up just right with the end result still leaking. Just for hoots and giggles even re-installed the factory pipe and have the same problems. what the ^%#$ am I doing wrong?????

I have one of those(sitting in the shop now for a couple of years). When I put it on, it was leaking bad at the connection to the header(stock). What I found out to be the problem is the stock header outlet is actually egg shaped and wouldn't seal to the nice round shape of the crossover. Maybe it is like that from being the original old factory headers with a lot of miles on them. I don't know of a fix to it, I'm just saving my new crossover so if I ever get aftermarket headers.

I was chasing the same leak for a few days. I bought the Poston 2 piece and it didn't like the DS ATR header so I went to Midas. The guy cut of the piece that mates to the header and welded in a new piece that seals perfectly. I installed a band clamp in the slip section and I haven't heard a peep out of the exhaust except for the rear ;) . $50 later and I was quite happy.

*****I have the Poston 2 piece as well, and bought an ATR drivers side header to replace my repeatedly cracked original. I ended up having to carefully line up both ends of the Poston pipe, bolt them onto the manifolds *very* carefully and with equal torque on the nuts, else the stupid thing would leak like a sieve. I opted not to use a band clamp at the slip joint in the middle, and once the thing was snugged up properly at both manifolds, I tack welded the crossover pipe, removed it, and welded it up properly. It's PERFECT now, with no leaks. BLM's went down, and it felt and sounded like a whole new car.

The best way I found to check for leaks was to use a bit of GM Top Engine Cleaner sucked through a vacuum hose into the throttle body. Shows any leaks you may have with thick, white smoke.

Good luck

Billy

i am going to have a friend make some flanges if there is room so it will fit flat. someday it will happen. it will look like the header to turbo connection
