The cruise control in my 84 is acting strange.
I'd suspect vacuum issue more than electrical.
Are there any easy troubleshooting steps to see if the Cruise Servo is the problem? (I saw a video on U Tube about how they have a filter in them that deteriorates with age and clogs up the inside.)
And is there a way to check the vacuum lines without electrically activating the servo?

I think your model year was the first for the system that was used all through the rest of the decade and into the 90s.The transducer and servo are integrated, there is a source vacuum hose and a dump valve hose going to a switch on the brake pedal. There is a cc module under drivers dash near the gas pedal, and the control switch on turn stalk provides control inputs. All three components are prone to failure at this vehicle age. If it works at all, the module is probably good. Check vacuum source hose, they rot and collapse. Check the vacuum reservoir under left fender for condition and attachment of the hose. Control switches fail a lot. So do Servos. If you have access to a factory manual, section 8A under cruise control has a good trouble shooting section. They are not that difficult to diagnose with a good flowchart to work from.
