Hey guys, i know the cruise control issue has been up here a million times, I searched the archives and tested every bit of info i could find. I really didnt find any problems. Ill give you my symptoms and tell you what ive checked.

No cruise function at all, not even the light on the dash lights up. Yes I know i must be traveling +25mph as well.

My stalk is working fine, i tested the leads at the module. The module has power, and good ground. The light in the dash is functioning if i apply ground to that circut under the dash as well. I basically did all the diagnostic stuff that i found first.

My servo IS holding vac. fine. The cruise control cable is hooked up as well (I had to rig a clip, anyone have an extra?).

This is where I stand right now, I have sold the car and told the guy that I would have everything working before I gave it to him.

Thanks gents - Evan

BTW, There is another TR in my future! (summer perhaps?)

Above the brake pedal arm there are 2 switches, brake light and tcc unlock. Chances are the plastic-threaded tcc switch is out of adjustment. Try pushing it towards the pedal arm a few threads. If you haven't had cruise in a TR, it is the sh*t! Boost on resume is sweet :)

HTH, Jim

ahh yes, i forgot to mention that the switches are in adjustment. I am assuming that the brake pedal is supposed to push in that switch when its in resting position. One thing, is the switch open or closed in that position, and what function does the vacum line serve.

I also heard you guys talking about a ball? I dont think i have one of those. I assume its a vac. reservoir.

Evan

The switch is normally closed when the brake pedal is in the upright (no brake condition). When the pedal is pressed the switch opens due to the plunger not being activated. The vacuum line attached to the switch is for a vacuum dump valve that releases the vacuum in the servo when the brake pedal is released. It is a safety type mechanism so if the brake switch for the cruise fails the car won't accelerate anymore. Did you follow the vacuum lines to the servo. The main line there tees off--- one to servo--- the other goes down below the very front of the driver side front fender to the vacuum ball.
