cruise rpm

i'm blessed with a digital dash, that doesnt' have a tach for those of you who don't know. doesn't have a boost gauge either, really a great idea on buicks part.

anyways i was just curious to know what a normal crusise rpm's are for 55 65 75 and 80 mph? the only thing i have done that MIGHT have any affect on that is an orange stripe converter, but its locked up at those speeds anyways so it should be the same as stock.

Assuming tire diameter is close to stock....

55 mph approx 1800rpm
65 mph approx 1900rpm
75 mph approx 2200rpm
80 mph approx 2340rpm

Yeah, you should be around 2000 RPM crusing at highway speed. At 80 MPH, you are slightly over 2000.

yea, stock tire size.

thanks, i've been wondering about that, it sounds like its turning a lot faster then that but i'm sure thats just my ears and the exhaust making me think that. good to know!
