CTS-V Challenge?

Has anyone else seen the CTS-V challenge on speed? Its any 4 door sedan vs the Cadillac CTS-V.

Personally i think that this challenge was a load of crap. Was wondering what you guys thought about it?

i wasn't to impress with the caddy challengers,in my eye's it was pretty much impossible for those car to keep up with the CTS-V.I would have love to see it with the heavy hitters like Mercedes-Benz AMG cars.

i agree i think that some cars like the Mercedes AMG would've rocked or even the V10 BMW. I also thought it was weird how the Cadillac drivers were mostly track racers like the mystery driver and all the other drivers weren't race car drivers for the other brand cars.

I have nothing against the CTS-V it just seemed pretty rigged

The fab shop I work with has the title of "The World's Fastest Cadillac"! :biggrin:

This is a CTS-V that was "prepared" for Bonneville a couple years ago. Since then they have done many CTS-V's from around the country.

They also do some BMW's and Mercedes with single and twin turbos that do not hold a candle to the Caddy on the street or strip. This is a badass car stock, and killer with the proper mods.

Our main project right now is the "World's Coolest GN"! And it will run 8's when prepped for the track.

We just put a roll bar in an AMG with additional engine mods, and the CTS-V will KILL it on the street or strip.

I know lots of the guys in the local Exotic Car Club and they bring their BMW's, AMG's, GT-40 Fords and the like to the track. For 1/2 the $$$$$, the Caddy puts them down!

That Chevy engine still kicks ass!

Look at the price. I did get a chance to watch the CTS-V challenge (it's funny because I never watch Speed) and the only car that came close was the M3. A good car, but not as much room. Read the Car and Driver reviews of the 2009 CTS-V. They typically praise no American cars, but somehow, Cadillac broke the mold. Go GM!!!

I thought the *challenge* itself was a let down , but I liked the idea. We bought a used 09 CTS-V about 2 months ago(with the push for green cars and GM in the tank,,,,,,,made perfect sense). I don't even bother telling people about the car because "normal" people can't really understand 556hp or why anyone would need it. I just say its a CTS. It's a shame my wife now has the fastest car in the family. But,,, it won't get the gas mileage the GN will.................

Recently Bob Lutz, General Motors Vice Chairman, issued a challenge to the world in which he hopes to prove that the Cadillac CTS-V is hands down the fastest four door sports car on the market today. Mr. Lutz is inviting all comers with a stock production sedan to challenge the chairman’s best lap time around the Monticello Motor Club’s race track on October 29. If you are intersted in taking on the 556 HP CTS-V.

Once again that so called challenge proved to be a joke for the simple fact,all the heavy hitters weren't even their to challenge the mighty CTS-V.

The '09 CTS-V caddy pretty much kicks anything in it's class out of the ring so far that it's not even funny. Most or all of the magazines that have done shootouts have put the nearest AMG in it's class as the C-63, I believe, and it is about $33K over the price of the Cad. There is one on the video webs that runs about 830 at the rear on juice and about 640 at the rear on gas. I believe that it is the quickest '09 CTS-V out there know of and just set a record for quickest Caddy at 11.3, I believe.

Thanks for the correction, 86brick. I thought that it was in the low 10's, but I did not want anybody coming back and slamming me for cheating in Cads favor.
