I recall some statements from years ago, saying that TR cylinder walls do not wear much, as evidenced by lack of wear in high mileage engines. If so, then a ring job should be easy. Anyone just put new standard rings in? What about the ring ridge at top? That still requires reaming, doesn't it?

If you do not remove the ridge, you run the risk of breaking the ring landings when you remove the pistons.

You will not regain ring seal by re-ringing. Especially if you have a ridge at the top of the cylinder. Leave it alone or have it professionally bored/honed.
