I don't know if this helps, but I just checked my stock converter, it's sitting in a box and has D5 markings all around the outer circumference. I don't see B-15 on it anywhere. Saw your other post in the trans section. My stock D5 would show 2,800 r.p.m's just before I built boost. I was not the original owner of the car so it may have been re-stalled but it doesn't look like it's ever been opened up.

Sounds about right. If I remember correctly, the stock d5 in my 87 stalls to about 2,000 at zero manifold.

Reply from trans section: ""That sounds like a Dacco number. They used to build them out of D6, D7 cores and now they are actually getting real picky and using D5. I haven't used Dacco in years because of a quality control issue they had and have been using one brand since then and never had a single complaint about my supplier now""

thanks for teh replies. i have some more information after some clarification with the converter shop. The B15-H number is a hybrid sort of like Daaco, but the converter was not rebuilt by dacco. the shop rebuilt this converter, and although it has no markings to indicate that it is high stall, they use the B15-H part number to indicate 12" LU, high stall, 27 spline converter. going to put it in on friday and see if it improves performance vs. my current low stall converter (1700rpm - PO had trans rebuilt).
