D5 Torque Conv. and Flexplate Question

Already posted in tranny section with no response.

Does the D5 conv. have a slight taper on the face and does the flexplate also have the same taper towards the crank ?
The face of my conv. is not flat and the flex plate is not flat. Looks like they are made that way. Are they?

The side that the flexplate mounts to. The crank side.
