I daily drive my 86' Regal (307) I get about 18 around town and about 25 on the highway. It seems like it gets better MPG then my LS1 but its hard to keep my foot out of the LS1 With the slug 307 I don't have that problem

95 3/4 ton Ford work van (weighs 9000+ loaded with parts/tools/equipment) gets 9-11 no matter how you drive it.

97 1/2 ton Ford Conversion van 5.4 Triton gets 13-14 city and 17-18 highway.

95 LT-1 Caddy Fleetwood is amazing 16-17 city and 25-28 highway at 4400#.

87 "T" with 60# injectors gets 15-16 city and 25 highway (Gainesville, FL to Atlanta, GA 360 miles on 14+ gallons of gas). Obviously with little or no boost.

99 Jeep Cherokee (4 liter inline six and only 3000#) is horrible at 15-16 combined no matter how you drive it. Anybody help me with this please?

As far as I've heard Jeeps pretty much get that type of gas mileage regardless of what you do.

It's my DD, but I'm trying to find something better on the wallet. The $100 weekly fillups hurt a little bit....

I average about 12.5 - 13.5 if I keep it under 2,500 RPM's. If I get on it, I get about 9-10 mpg. When I tow my 6k lb camper on the expressway, I get the same (12 mpg).

I love my truck, and it hauls everything I throw at it. I know it gets bad gas millage, but I didn't buy it for that. I don't see civic's bitching how they can't tow a camper, or can't haul a mower home, or fit a new bed in the back. (hell, let me see them fill their car with 2 tons of dirt and drive home).


My truck has a purpose, and I use it. It sucks when I fill it up, but for an 8k lb truck with a V10, 13 mpg isn't tooooo bad.

Just picked up a 94 GMC Sonoma real cheap. 4.3 TBI auto 128k,tuned it up summit wires,cap,rotor,bumped the timing from 0 to 10*,getting 26 mpg.Now I'm doing t-body spacer,homemade CAI with caddy 4.9 air cleaner 3.5 cone filter should pick up another 2mpg with that.

My "railroad" car 1990 Olds Cutlass Ciera S/W get about 26mpg hwy-->

that's with 224k on the odo. (I got it with 210k on it) Car still runs like a champ.

The other car ('00 Audi A6 2.7t 6spd, with AMS stage V turbo package) with 175k on the odo gets 23 mpg on the highway (at 75 mph average). If I set the cruise at 65 I get 26-27mpg. All on 93 of course

Guess that's not too bad for a heavy (4100 with driver) car with AWD and the HP/TQ it makes.
