so i run a carfax on my 87 today just to see if theres any problems i never knew about. ive owned the car since march of 04. i bought the car from my mother (the second owner) who bought it in 2000ish from the original owner so i know a good chunck of the cars history. when i had the title changed into my name the odometer read 90094 miles. everything on the carfax checks out except for when i took the car to emissions in march 05 and somehow it reads that the car had 127,000 miles:mad:  (an even 127,000 at that)

the odometer currently reads 93,xxx:eek:

i threw a rod in it within two weeks of taking it to the emissions station so it hasnt been driven since then and wasnt driven very often for the year that i did drive it (i lived 1.3 miles away from work).

is there any way that i can dispute this with the dmv? or am i stuck having
34,xxx mystery miles on the car?

Don't know about AZ but here in Utah I just have an EXEMPT on my milage. Here it does not matter on any car older then 10 yrs.

Got the same problem with my GN except it reads that it has 128000 on it when it really only has 28000. Think when I first took it for emissions testing they figured since it was so old it had to have over 100k on it even though it looked brand new. Still cringed when the 300lb girl got into it to drive on the rollers.

im thinking that i had the same thing, the guy probably just figured that it had that much on it as he NEVER even looked at the dash. oh and as far as someone getting in it to put it on the roller? OH I DONT THINK SO!

$hit i wont even let the tire guys pull the gn or even my skylark into the bay to get new tires put on it, nobody drives my cars! that way if something breaks i know who to blame.
