LOL, them cruse words in NC:biggrin:

JR is the man... He had the biggest shoes to fill in history of Nascar... Kyle Petty sure didn't fill his daddy's shoes...

At least JR is doing well on the business end of the industry, I am sure Dale would be just as proud of that...

I don't dig chick's racing, so back out of this thread:biggrin:

Notice my screen name, and avatar photo. Let's just say I've got very strong ties to a business in Kernersville.

I'll let you take it from there.

IMO, It will take more than Danica to get interest from former NASCAR fans... like making the racers use cars that are race modified versions of "real" cars. No more stupid ricer wings (that appeals to the ricer crowd who don't even know enough about their ricer Toyotas to put the car in neutral if the gas pedal sticks:eek:). If a car is a 4 door front wheel drive 6 cylinder car, that's what it should be and look like, not some dopey look alike jelly bean car that could be anything you want to slap a decal on. Real cars cars...Camaro, Mustang, Challengers... would gain a gazillion new fans and re-attract former fans to return to the sport.

The wing will be gone shortly on the COT. Granted the COT is much safer for the driver, but I agree it blows.

The Challenger & Rustangs 'body styles' are being worked slowly into the Nationwide series. These new body styles will run in selected 2010 Nationwide races..another expense for team owners in this horrible economy.

GM has said that they can't/won't make the switch to the Camaro 'body style' in the Nationwide series. They've stated that they're sticking to the Impala body, but could switch to the Malibu body. Bottom line they're broke. 'yota says they'll stick w/ the Camary body.

Danica will attempt Nationwide Race at Daytona
Source: Danica to run Nationwide

Feb 7, '10, 7:04 PM ET - David Newton - ESPN.com

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Danica Patrick will enter Saturday's Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway, a source close to the situation told ESPN.com on Sunday.

The IndyCar Series star who is beginning the transition to NASCAR made the decision after finishing sixth in Saturday's ARCA debut at DIS. An official announcement will be made on Monday.

Patrick will be guaranteed a spot in the field using the points Brad Keselowski accumulated in the No. 88 for JR Motorsports last season.

Crew chief Tony Eury Jr., who initially was against Patrick beginning her limited Nationwide schedule at Daytona, didn't hesitate to give a yes vote following the ARCA event.

"Me and Rick [Hendrick] told her the first time we ever met her, that Daytona might not be the place you want to do it," Eury said of starting her part-time Nationwide schedule. "It's basically a [Sprint] Cup race. You don't want to put her in a situation where she is going to fail. We told her to come down, run this race, get her feet wet and if you're comfortable do it.

"I would love for her to come back and run next week."

So would primary sponsor GoDaddy.com, according to multiple sources.

Not everybody is for it. Several crew chiefs in the Sprint Cup garage said Patrick would be better off waiting until the second race at California to jump into Nationwide, mentioning the potential for disaster running nose-to-tail in large packs.

Despite her performance in the ARCA race, Patrick still hesitated to run close to the car ahead of hers, a necessity in restrictor plate racing to remain competitive.

"That's the kind of thing that is going to take gradual time, to get used to bump drafting," Eury said Saturday. "We just keep talking. This tonight is the most homework we can do."

Patrick's biggest reservation about Daytona was keeping JR Motorsports teammate Kelly Bires out of the event and perhaps costing a driver competing for the championship valuable points if she makes a mistake.

Patrick's only major mistake in the ARCA race came with less than 30 laps remaining when she lost control and spun through the tri-oval and through the grass. But she made a nice recovery and rallied from last to sixth.

"I couldn't ask too much more," Eury said. "She was put in a predicament, her and her spotter worked good together. I was very impressed those last 20 laps. I was, 'All right, she's getting it done now.'

"Are you going to run in the top 5 in a Nationwide race? You're going to have to have a lot of luck. But I think she showed right there at the end she's very capable of running in the draft."

Does it really matter what place she placed? Dam she is Hot!

No surprise, might as well jump in head first, why wait for CA? Feel sorry for the guy that was supposed to run the car though. She still has to qualify for the race though. JR should just field a 3rd car.

She is in no matter what, doesn't have to qualify to get in.

Patrick is guaranteed starting positions in all three races based off JRM's acquisition of points from CJM Racing's No. 11 team, which finished 15th in the 2009 Nationwide Series owners' point standings.

What ever happened to the race cars actually resembling the factory cars? I can still remember the chargers, torinos and Malibu's strongly resembling the factory cars, the yellow challenger and those mustangs look nothing like the factory cars granted the spoilers i know they need down force but i can still remember the cars of the 60's and 70's doing 180 to 195 and still resembling the factory cars.

Danica-Mania Helps ARCA Website Set New Records
ARCA - 2/9/10

With a boost from Danica Patrick's stock car debut, ARCA's website - ARCAracing.com - smashed all one day records, times three.

Visitors on raceday totaled over 118,000 annihilating the previous single-day mark of 39,375. Pageviews were equally impressive with 715,721, eclipsing the previous high-mark for single-day pageviews of 211,776.

Even more impressive when one considers that ARCAracing.com was up against the live telecast on SPEED, which is also likely to produce record ratings.

Those jugs are alot bigger than hers.

Personally, she does'nt impress me. Never done $hit in racing to speak of.

The money is driving this sport so we all have to live with it.
