coming home from Texas yesterday, my card would not work for gas. When I got home I checked my bank account. They got me for $700 and started again this morning. Just got back from the bank, man I hope I don't have to pay for this.

Man there is alot of this $hit going around. More than likely has to do with what was finally reported to the public last week. Visa & Mastercard admitted to millions of accounts being hacked. LINK: http://www.foxbusiness.com/industries/2012/03/30/massive-data-breach-strikes-visa-mastercard/

My credit card got hit last month with a BS "PayPal" charge. I noticed the charge last Friday when I opened the bill & spent an hour on the phone with PP & my card company getting $hit straightened out.

Same problem here last week. Apparently I donated to a Mayor in Texas, I haven't been in Texas for 20 years. A bunch of other bs charges that the bank said I won't be paying. I asked how this can happen and she said people will punch in #s till they get a hit.

You guys should nt have to pay for any of it. This has happened to me a couple times , once for 2 grand. With bank of america, the $ was credited back to my account immediatly. Be paitent , it will work out.

Yea these "smart" phuckers hide behind the interwebz stealing money from people because they don't have the balls to actually try to rob someone in person. I'm in no way condoning stealing, but what ever happened to the good 'ol days of Bonnie & Clyde bank robberies?

I'd like to see one of these basement dweller losers break into someone's house to rob someone, only to get his/her brains or guts removed from their body by way of hot lead poisoning.

It happened to me back in 2009 My card was used in a Walmart in FL for a $990.00 purchase. I called Walmart thinking someone used it online NOPE it was an in store purchase. My Credit Union did all the rest took me 3 weeks to get the money back. Last Saturday my card gets put on hold!!! I called the Credit Union they tell me they had a transaction come in from England for $500 So I had to go to the bank and get new VISA debt cards for me and the wife. At least my bank stopped it this time. First thing anybody has to do is make a police report. Yes cards can get stolen even if you still have them in your pocket.

Maybe they should start adding symbols to account numbers to make it more difficult for hackers. Man, this is getting bad! Sorry to hear guys. I hope everything gets squared away for you.

My Discover Card got used April 1, at walmart $513.00 not by me.

They refused it but not until after they charged up some Air France tickets and some other online chemistry store charge....

I think it was one of the 1.5 million recently stolen.

Anyway they're mailing me a new card and of course I don't owe anything.....

Not that I would have payed them anyway.... :p

I did admit to all the gas charges on there though.

The card never left my possession but I use it almost daily and pay it off every month.

my wifes got skimmed at a drive thru bank atm, next day our bank called her asking if she was in NJ. and no she wasn't lol
thye had made a new cards and purchased stuff at walmart and numerous gas stations.
600 later, they stopped it.
the bad thiong we had to call police and they gave us run around, then nj police was a waste as well. had to get report local then take to our bankfor the visa to refund our money

Anytime you loose sight of your card (ie: restaurants, gas stations, etc, etc) consider it skimmed. You want to use your debt card at a food establishment, stop at the ATM and take out the cash. The ring leaders pay people at businesses to skim cards, they even provide the skimmers.

Before sliding the card into the ATM, check the ATM card reader for a skimming device.

Usually your bank will give your money back.

Oh and good luck trying to contact anyone at apple... keep getting the runaround by the automated computer guy. What a joke!

Funny thing is if you use debit there is no protection. Only when you use credit. Credit you have VISA and MC to help.

Someone gets your PIN.. your SOL. So when you get gas, go to the store, etc.. use "credit" not "debit" even tho it costs the merchant more.. it protects you.

Its hard to get the PIN from a Bank.. way easier to snipe it from a transaction at a gas pump.

My card was hit a few months ago for 2800 from France. 1 minute before for .76 from a doctors office in AZ. The bank caught it.

Last week I bought flowers for someone in Switzerland. They must have been pretty nice since it was $84. Hope the jack wagon got laid. The bank refunded the money but there is something fishy about it as well. So here is your warning.

A couple days before it happened I had ordered a $300 lens online for the wife's camera and they fiddle farted around with the order never charging my account and never shipping the lens. I called them several times and every time they gave me a different excuse and threw something else in with the lens. I brought this up about the flowers thing to the guy from this company and he hung up on me so I cancelled my order because of this. I had only called them because they had not charged me and the card number I gave them had been cancelled because of the flower fraud.

The company is called "Circut accessories". Yes that is how they spell circuit! I don't recommend anyone doing business with them and it has nothing to do with the credit card issue. I don't think you will ever get what you ordered. They supposedly specialize in camera accessories.

I did get the lens for $10 more then they were charging and didn't have to order it online.

Well, the credit union replaced my money after I filed a police report. What a pain. Someone catch the A-HOLES!

That's not true. If your debit card has a Visa/MC logo, you have the same basic protections credit card holders have. 99% of bank issued debit cards function as a credit card too,if that's available - use that. As you know, here in Florida if we choose "credit" at the pump, we have to enter a correct billing zip.

The only place I ever use my PIN is at an ATM, and I use my Discover for 99% of purchases though.

Well it looks like my Discover Card number was included in the recent security breach that exposed the information of some 1.5M credit cards. I went to make a payment to find that it had been shut down by the fraud department. Apparently there were a lot of internet purchases made with it between 03/28 and 04/05. None of it will become my responsibility but it still ticks me off.

Between the hackers, petty thieves and government moochers, it is begining to feel like the only suckers in this world are the ones who take care of their own business, work hard for honest pay and pay their taxes all while trying to raise respectful children that do not fall prey to society's animals! I had better stop now before this turns into a discussion of the general breakdown of decent society and what it will be like if there is a national disaster that makes Katrina look like a public pool on a summer afternoon. :(
