Why not put the -6an adapters in the transmission and run the -6 line all the way from the case to the cooler?

Could you possibly email or PM a list of the fittings/hoses you used for the trans cooler lines?

Great build!

northernGN - The actuator was already attached to the turbo when I bought it from Precision. Looks like they drilled their own hole rather than use the existing holes in the bracket. The rod lined up perfectly.

aminga and SuperSix - I ran fittings from the case all the way to the cooler, but my cooler didn't have AN fittings, just nipples, so I converted the -6AN lines to 5/16 rubber lines just before the cooler.

The transmission case can use 1/4 straight thread or 1/4 NPT. I already had some 1/4 NPT fittings laying around so I used them. I use ARP Thread Sealer on the threads, that way I don't need to tighten the fittings too much (which could crack the case).

So, out of the tranny, two 1/4 NPT to -6 male adapters. Then two -6 Earl's hose ends, 45 degree angle. Then two lengths of Earl's Perform-O-Flex braided hose, 4ft each. Then two -6 Earl's straight hose ends. Finally two -6 male to 5/16 nipple made by Aeromotive. Summit's part# is AEI-15635.

Here is a pic of the lines going into the tranny. The O2 sensor is a wideband.

Here is a pic of the trans temp sensor. CK-Performance drilled the cast aluminum pan for me when they built my tranny. 3/8 NPT. I then used a reducer/adapter to make it 1/8 NPT.

Toomanymodz,,,,Where in Florida are you?? our car looks great!

Spring Hill / Brooksville area, about 45 miles north of Tampa. In late Feb or Early March there is the annual Turbo Buick meet-up at Old Town in Kissimmee. I haven't heard about an exact date yet, but I plan on attending.

Cool - I am in S. Pasco, close to Hills co. I go to Croom with the ATV often.

I doubt I will be done with my GN by then - and the T is too ugly to take to a show. ;)

UPDATE: Finished installing the exhaust, driveshaft and safety loop. Just waiting for the Earl's fitting to attach the fuel return line. I noticed a small amount of coolant on the ground. Looks like it's leaking from the driver's side head where it meets the block. Not sure if I need to be concerned about this. They're Cometic gaskets. Not sure if Weber installs them dry or uses spray. I hope a heat cycle seals it up.

Mine leaked too but Cadillac tablets fixed it. Don't forget the bolts from the turbo to the header. Ask me how I know.

Haha...not everyone is gonna know about Cadillac pills. You must be an older guy to know this...:D

Yeah, I'm 53. But my engine builder said to use them (he is even older) and I read it on turbobuick.com . I guess some say it just masks the problem, but they worked for me.

I put Cadillac tablets (I've also heard them called NASCAR tablets) in every one of my cars for good measure .....I watched a seeping water pump gasket stop leaking within minutes of installing them. Great stuff!

Btw, nice car and thanks for posting all the pics.

Looking real good. You're inspiring me to work on my GN again :D

Peter

Thanks guys. I checked the engine last night and the seeping has stopped. It only dripped when it was cold outside, and only several drops. I'm sure once I start it up and it gets it's first heat cycle it will be fine.

I'm still waiting on the fitting for the return line. Jegs said that it would be drop=shipped from Earl's/holley. I remember reading a thread where someone made their own fitting by welding two steel fittings together. I would pay someone to make me a fitting for the saginaw return line. The fitting that i'm waiting for requires me to cut the saginaw end off, and then use a ferrul/compression type fitting, just like oil-p[ressure lines use. i'd like to start the new engine this week, but without the fitting i'm dead in the water.
