decking the o ring out of a head

Is there any problem with decking the o ring groove out of a GN1 aluminum head? How many thousandths before they clean up? Will there be compression problems?

I had the same thing done on mine, no problems. I would talk to Tom at Champion to verify.

I believe

The wire is .032 with @ least half in the head. Having said that, looks like .016 -.018 would get enough off.

I believe the intake will have to be modified after that process . I wonder if they weld it up and then surface the weld down. I would not want to surface .020 -.030 off the heads. Tom is the guy to ask

New heads.:biggrin: I don't want to machine off .30 either. Looks like Toms getting a call.
